How to French Kiss Your Computer - Boise Weekly
It's common knowledge that people love their technology ... but do you need to "love" your technology?
Apparently, researchers at the Kajimoto Laboratory at the University of Electro-Communications in Japan were tired of the taboo of human/electronics intimacy and decided to take a flying leap over that line by creating a device that allows you to virtually tongue kiss someone with a matching device. Creepy? Yes.
The device looks like a straw on a giant juice box, but the makers say it will eventually be able to simulate "sense of taste, the manner of breathing and the moistness of the tongue." Seriously.
According to the lab, the device works as such:
"If you take one device in your mouth and turn it with your tongue, the other device turns in the same way. If you turn it back the other way, then your partner's turns back the same way, so your partner's device turns whichever way your own device turns."
